More Than a Boat Ride

Our Story

EcoBoats started with a Duffy boat and a good idea: a quiet afternoon on Fort Lauderdale's waterways, no noise, no fumes, just the water. It was easy to see the opportunity.

That idea has only grown since. Behind EcoBoats is a family with deep roots in tourism and hospitality, and a genuine stake in protecting the environment. We have an environmental scientist in the family, and her perspective shapes how we think about every choice we make, from the boats we run to the cups we hand out. We also have a chef in the family, and his influence points toward what's next for EcoBoats: bringing thoughtfully curated food experiences onto the water.

We're not just running boat tours. We're building the kind of on-the-water experience Fort Lauderdale deserves: eco-conscious, genuinely hospitable, and always evolving.

We take eco-forward seriously, which means being upfront about what that actually looks like. Our Duffy boats run at zero local emissions, with manatee-safe propellers designed to protect the wildlife sharing these waterways with us. We skip single-use plastic water bottles: bring your own reusable bottle, and we'll fill it from a large, recyclable water jug on board.

We won't claim to be perfect. But every choice we make starts with the same question: is there a better way to do this without asking guests to sacrifice a great afternoon on the water?

Our Boats

Our fleet includes two fully electric Duffy boat styles, the 18-foot Snug Harbor and the 21-foot Sun Cruiser. We're licensed to carry up to six guests per charter. Each boat comes with a full canopy roof, wraparound windows, and a Bluetooth sound system, so your playlist is part of the experience.

There's no diesel smell, no engine roar, just a quiet electric motor gliding you smoothly across the water. It's a different kind of ride, one where you can actually hear the conversation, the water, and the city around you. Bring your own food and drinks; there's a cooler on board, and we'll throw in ice to keep everything cold.

Your Captain, Your Call

Your captain can be as involved as you'd like: a knowledgeable boat guide pointing out the sights and sharing local know-how, or simply someone quietly at the helm while you focus on your group and the water.

Every captain is licensed and experienced on these waters, so you can relax without ever having to think about the boat. Ask questions, request a favorite spot along the way, or just enjoy the ride; however you want the afternoon to go, your captain adjusts to match it. It's your charter, your pace, and your call from the moment you step aboard.
